San Francisco to be Zero Waste by 2020, New iPhone App Helps

San Franciscans already lead the nation in recycling – in May they announced a 72% diversion rate of all materials going to the landfill – but they want to do more. Last week San Francisco passed the nation’s first mandatory recycling and composting laws. The city has pledged to recycle 75% of the materials by 2010 and be zero waste by 2020.
